What about those spams that promise to send you a free laptop if you fill out their form? After you fill out their form, you have to fill out dozens more forms. I've never gone through all their forms because I could be on the computer for hours -- and that could be a best-case scenario!! Needless to say, the purpose here is NOT to give you a free laptop, but to SELL your e-mail address to other spammers! Isn't there something wrong with that?!?

hmmmm - i have "insider" info on that stuff as the company i work for is a "sponsor" of that offer (among many others, i might add).
i call it the "get a free [fill in the blank] offer." i see new things every day from my customers. sometimes it's stuff i've never even heard of!
"um - i ordered your free sample kit so when am i going to get my new cell phone?"
"um - i ordered your free sample kit so when am i going to get my new webber grill?"
"um - i ordered your free sample kit so when am i going to get my new riding lawn mower?"
"um - i ordered your free sample kit so when am i going to get my new Louis Vuitton handbag?"
my major complaint with this is HELLO - YOU REALLY DONT THINK THAT THESE COMPANIES ARE GOING TO SEND YOU A $2,000 LAPTOP FOR ORDERING A $5.00 MAKEUP KIT!!!??? honestly folks, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
if the people took the time to read the "terms and conditions" BEFORE they fill out the forms, they would SEE that they have to order about $2,000 worth of merchandise just to GET whatever the "free" item is! they would actually get it if they fulfill the requirements, but they never want to order all that stuff. no one would! and of course they email ME complaining that that website didn't send the "gift" to them (because they didn't fulfill all of the "requirements" of the offer, most likely.) and i don't even WORK for that website! all i do is send the makeup! if you didn't get your "free" thing - GO COMPLAIN TO THAT WEBSITE, NOT ME!!!!

and yes you are right - they are selling your email address all over the place. we probably have it if you gave it to them. LOL
